Benedicta Women’s Training Center (Koungheul)
The Benedicta Women’s Training Center was established as a sewing school and presently helps many girls and young women who otherwise would not receive any education and whose only future would be the family and its management.
The Women’s Training Center is directed at girls and young women who would like to receive a basic education and train for a job in order to become financially self-sufficient. Today, 20 years after opening its doors, the Center offers an excellent level of professional training.
The curriculum includes:
- 1st year: Tailoring children’s wear.
- 2nd year: Tailoring adolescents’ wear.
- 3rd year: Tailoring adult clothes.
- French literacy courses.
- Cooking, housekeeping and home management.
- Textile dyeing courses (a traditional craft industry).
Needs: Funds are needed to maintain the building, funding to support student fees, supplies & materials, and teachers salaries is an ongoing need!
