The Miriam Project (Padua)

The program provides a shelter for immigrant women and children in difficult situations and lodges and hides young women who are victims of human trafficking.

Project Miriam chose a specific target in the vast field of prostitution: immigrant prostitutes, victims of the "kidnapping-prostitution" international business. While protecting the women, they are given the opportunity to learn skills, find jobs, and gradually return to society. While in the program, each person receives shelter, help in obtaining legal documents, other legal assistance, healthcare, counseling, and educational and training assistance. Workshops are offered in order to give the young women opportunities to socialize and keep busy with a specific goal, and at the same time learn skills to help them find a job. The guests who have been helped range in ages 17 to 30.
