Our Lady of the Angels Home and Kindergarten
        (Pires Do Rio)
To break the cycle of poverty, the Sisters have opened day care centers to help the children grow with a sense of joy and freedom, in health and safety and to enable their mothers to work to keep the family unit alive. The children are also given religious education and receive preparation for the Sacraments. The Sunflower Project is an outreach program to children and young people. With this initiative the Sisters are preparing the young for a more promising future. Many activities and opportunities for recreation are made available.

The Sisters creatively provide a Brinquedoteca Mundo Encantado (Enchanted World Toy Library) for children to enjoy. They also offer an after school program as well as an arts and crafts program for children and young people. The day care provides protection and safety to children and adolescents of low income parents, allowing the children’s parents to earn a living. Educational, recreational, social and cultural activities are provided as part of the holistic development of the children.
