The Education, Culture and Leisure Project (Goiania)
Started in 1997, the project provides children and adults in the neighborhood with social and leadership skills. Toys and supervised opportunities to play and socialize are provided for the children. Classes on arts and crafts, baking, and social skills are offered to adults. Students from the University volunteer at the Center to earn college credit, teaching English language classes as well as classes relating to their major area of study.
Needs: Funding for classroom supplies and materials; toys; building maintenance and upkeep; computers and software; salaries
